Slugtown is pleased to present Lacuna, a group exhibition on Artsy.
Lacuna is the fifth in a series of online exhibitions hosted by Arcade to support non-profit, charitable and artist run spaces in their community. A new exhibition will be published online every 21 days.
Lacuna presents the work of three artists who have previously exhibited with Slugtown, and three who will show at Slugtown's new gallery space in 2020.
25% of all sales will be donated to The Angelou Centre, a charity in the West End of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. They provide a range of services for Black, Asian, minority ethnic and refugee women including training, personal development, counselling and legal advice for immigration and domestic violence.

About the artist
Seb Trend was born in Helsinki, Finland in 1986 and graduated from Northumbria University, Newcastle, UK in 2008. Trend is living and working in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.
Through a painting process akin to alchemy Trend liquifies and manipulates images, moving photograph emulsion around like paint. His work concerns states of the ‘in-between’: molten and solid, representation and abstraction, the permanent and momentary. Most recently he has been using slips, oxides, carbonates and glazes to produce paintings transformed by a hidden alchemy at 1260°C. Through his work Trend continues to mix associations of the photograph, the painting and the object.
